Hello! We are the people behind Milestone Pediatrics.
We're working hard every day to create a community of understanding and acceptance, while helping individuals gain confidence in their unique abilities.
"Making a difference, one Milestone at a time".
Rebeca is the Owner and Co-Founder of Milestone Pediatrics, LLC, a leader in the Hispanic Community, serving individuals with disabilities. Milestone Pediatrics was established in 2009 by Rebeca Lopez and Lyndsey Steele. Rebeca’s professional background includes 8 years of providing Developmental Therapy services to children with special needs. Rebeca assisted children in developing cognitive, language, social, and gross motor skills, to children ages 0-3.
She is an active member of the Board of Directors for Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona, and also the Hispanic Chapter leader, for their parent support groups. Her role is to support Hispanic families by focusing on increasing awareness, and educating families about Down Syndrome.
Rebeca is passionate about being an inspiration to the Latino Community. She currently serves on the Board for the Arizona State University Hispanic Business Alumni Association (HBA), as the Membership Committee Chair and also a mentor for their scholarship recipients. Rebeca recently received the 2015 Hispanic Business Salute Award by Telemundo for her dedication and contribution to the Hispanic Community.
Rebeca earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration in December 2005 from the University of Arizona and is currently in the Executive MBA Program at the University of Arizona.
Lyndsey is Co-founder/Owner and HCBS Program Director for Milestone Pediatrics. Her interest in the special needs and disabled community started in college where she was part of a research team that studied the behavior of children with Autism. As her education continued, she began studying infants and their development which further solidified her passion for working with infants and children.
She also worked one-on-one with zero to five year olds in a child development lab where she gained more training and knowledge of development, disabilities, and behavior. As a Developmental Special Instructor she is able to work directly in the field, one-on-one with special needs children and their families to meet developmental milestones. With the rising demand of therapy and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), she and Rebeca decided to create Milestone Pediatrics where all of children’s needs can be met.
Lyndsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, in Family and Human Development with an Emphasis in Infancy.
